Parents Control (Prevent You From Selling Fishes)

Perhaps you have encountered this situation before while playing Happy Fish Dream Aquarium - you either wanted to release some fishes into your aquarium or to store one or two back into your Storage. Then, alas, you made the silly mistake of selling your fish! Oops!

I have wrongly sold off my fishes before (mostly when I was still half awake or when I was in a hurry while playing the game), but thank goodness, the fishes could be bought back from the Store. Erm...what if you accidentally sold off some exclusive fishes won from the promotional activities or some fishbucks fishes? Begging on your knees, in hopes that Happy Fish admin would return your sold-fish back to you, doesn't work. The only thing that you can do now...is to prevent such a mistake from ever happening to you again.

Time-Limited Synth Game: Gems Required for 16 June to 15 July 2015

It's not even June yet, but Dr. Octopus is already showing hints about the gems required for the next time-limited synth game, which will begin on June 16. Where are the hints showing up, you say? Well, if you play the Regular Shell these few days, you will notice new gems appearing in the shells. Apart from the Regular Shell, there are also new gems showing up in the Reindeer gifts. Some players have also noticed this phenomenon and they have released the related fishes in their display tanks. Do you know what these fishes are?

New Tarot & Sign Fish - Knight of Swords & Serpens

Two new fishes have just arrived in Happy Fish Dream Aquarium - let's welcome Knight of Swords & Serpens!! Please take note that Knight of Swords & Serpens are limited-time fishes - they are only available in the Store for about a month before the next Tarot & Sign fishes replace them. If you plan to collect the entire series, please do not wait until the last minute to purchase them. It is hard to tell if Happy Fish will bring them back to the Store in the future.

I am not sure of the reason, but most of the Tarot series fish seem to hold something in their right hands. Knight of Swords is of course, holding a sword in his right hand... You can purchase a Knight of Swords at 29 fishbucks - considerably affordable perhaps?

Personally, I do not like snakes (or any of its wriggly relatives) but this Serpens looks more like a monkey to me rather than a snake. Serpens is also priced at 29 fishbucks.

Just in case you do not know where to purchase these two fishes, I have put up some quick guidelines below...
This is the default interface of your aquarium. On the right side of the aquarium, there is a house-shaped icon (with a tiny fish on the roof). This is the Store (I have just decided to call is the Store, as Happy Fish has not given a name to this icon). You will be able to purchase fishes, fishbucks and coins from the Store.

After you tap on the Store icon, two more icons will appear - one is for purchasing fish, another is for purchasing fishbucks and coins.

Remember to release your new fishes into your Display Tank after they have produced gems. Happy Fishing!!

Promo: Paper Airplane's Star Dream

Happy Fish introduced an interesting promo on April 13 - Paper Airplane's Star Dream. You guessed it right - you gotta fly some paper airplanes to the night sky this time!

This promo originally begins on April 13 and ends on April 25. However, most players could not see this new promo appearing on Fantastic Activities page on April 13. After Happy Fish fixed the issue, the promo period was modified a bit - begins on April 14 and ends on April 26.

I noticed that most players outside of Taiwan (where Happy Fish Dream Aquarium's server is located) have difficulties in knowing when promos (activities) actually end due to timezone difference. I will be adding activity countdowns in related posts, hopefully doing this could help players to avoid missing the last day of the promo - especially in collecting rewards.

The biggest reward for this promo is the Blue Squid - you can have one if you manage to collect 200 blue stars in the game. Another bonus would be perhaps the Mango Cachalot - you can have this if you collect 60 yellow stars in the game.

P.S. You could consider keeping the paper airplanes collected daily and only use all of them a day or two before the promo ends. After you have flown a few paper airplanes, you will get a bonus time of five (5) minutes - when this happens, the whole night sky is filled with stars and it will be easier to collect more stars this way.

Hatching Fish Baby Guide (Android)

Ahem...obviously this blog is all about Happy Fish on iOS (e.g. iPhone and iPad). I do not really know how Happy Fish works on Android yet, but due to a request from a Happy Fish friend (and I also understand that it is really hard to find English guide for Android players), I have plucked up much courage to dig through the Chinese-based Happy Fish forum and ended up creating this post. For those who are playing Happy Fish on Android devices, I guess most of you are aware of this so-called Fish Baby. Fish Baby is a feature ONLY AVAILABLE in Android devices, as of now (this very day)...Happy Fish might introduce this feature in iOS some day.

Anyway, this Fish Baby stuff is actually very interesting (and complicated?). There are many ways to get hold of a Fish Baby - purchase from the Shop, Gem Exchange and even Crown Exchange. A Fish Baby eventually hatches into a full grown fish, but the hatching process will decide on the outcome of the grown-up fish. Now, the next question is - how do you hatch a Fish Baby? You will be amazed how simple the hatching process is - feed it with fishfood, entertain it and give it milk! The tougher question is...how am I supposed to know which combination of fishfood, entertainment and milk will produce the grown-up fish that I want? Well, keep on reading this post and you will find the answer.

At the time being, this post only covers:
  • Stegosaurus Fish Baby
  • Pterosaur Fish Baby
  • Trex Baby
P.S. This guide is provided by players, not by Happy Fish. If you find any of the guide inaccurate, feel free to drop me a feedback to correct the problem. Thank you.

Stegosaurus Fish Baby

This Fish Baby can only be purchased from the Shop. Each Stegosaurus Fish Baby costs 49 fishbucks. A Stegosaurus Fish Baby may result in the following four grown-up fishes:
  • Big Stegosaurus (Yellow)
  • Blue Stegosaurus (Blue)
  • Green Stegosaurus (Green)
  • Red Stegosaurus (Red)

Pterosaur Fish Baby

This Fish Baby can only be purchased from the Shop. Each Pterosaur Fish Baby costs 49 fishbucks. A Pterosaur Fish Baby may result in the following four grown-up fishes:
  • Carrot Ptero (Red)
  • Pterosaur Fish (Blue)
  • Silver Ptero (Silver)
  • Yellow Ptero (Yellow)

Trex Baby

It is a bit complicated to get a Trex Baby - you need to purchase Chill Fishfood and feed it to a fish, collect the Chill Fishfood gems and you can use those Chill Fishfood gems to exchange for a Trex Baby through Gem Exchange feature. A Trex Baby may result in the following twelve grown-up fishes:

Trex Series
  • Bruce Trex Fish (Blue)
  • Dark Trex Fish (Black)
  • Green Trex Fish (Green)
  • Halo Trex Fish (Yellow)
  • Red Trex Fish (Red)
  • Twilight Trex Fish (Purple)

Super Series
  • Super Bruce-mon (Blue)
  • Super Dark-mon (Black)
  • Super Green-mon (Green)
  • Super Halo-mon (Yellow)
  • Super Red-mon (Red)
  • Super Twilight-mon (Purple)

There are many more Fish Baby out there to be discovered...but let me stick to these three types for the time being. I hope that this guide can be of some use to the Android players out there. Feel free to share this post with your Android friends.

Fish Only Available in Synth Game

I find the synth game notebook (where the gem combination for certain fishes are shown) useful...but something is missing. What's that, you say? The estimated time for each gem combination is not shown in the notebook. I figured maybe it would be easier to decide on which gem combination to use if we can see how long each gem combination takes.

Shell Game: Dark Uchin

Yikes!! Something black and prickly has arrived in Happy Fish Dream Aquarium a few days ago (on April 8, if I didn't remember wrongly). Dark Uchin (shouldn't the name be "Dark Urchin", instead of "Dark Uchin"??) is here to stay in the Shell Game for about a month, replacing the previous Dorky Seal. Since Dark Uchin was introduced in the Shell Game on April 8, it should be gone latest by May 9. Better try your luck in the Shell Game now, before May arrives, because Dark Uchin might leave earlier than what I had predicted.

Dark Uchin is a really tiny fellow! However, Happy Fish is right that Dark Uchin is a SPECIAL GUY. Check out the cool animations of Dark Uchin. If you tap on Dark Uchin, more Dark Uchins will appear on top of it and they will all come tumbling down in the end. You can watch the animation of Dark Uchin from Fantastic Activities page, or why not get one of your own today?

As usual, Dark Uchin is available in both Regular Shell and Gold Shell. Based on past experiences, it is very likely that you will get a Dark Uchin in the Regular Shell if you spend between 50 to 100 shell vouchers. Playing the Regular Shell has proven to be very challenging - if you need some guide on Regular Shell, do read up Regular Shell Strategy.

Of course, there is still no guarantee of getting a Dark Uchin in the Regular Shell. If you want a guaranteed Dark Uchin, I would advise you to play Gold Shell instead. In Gold Shell, if you are willing to spend 200 shell vouchers one shot, you are guaranteed at least one Dark Uchin...in other words, you might win more than one.

For once, the shape of the gem is similar to the shape of the fish. Dark Uchin is as spiky as the Spiky Ball Gem...All right, time to flex some muscles and challenge Dr. Octopus to a duel! Where's my Dark Uchin??

Hopefully we can win one (or maybe two) Dark Uchin(s) before he goes away. The fishes are getting more and more animated, I love them so much!...I wonder who will be coming next?

Happy Fishing!!

Time-Limited Synth Game: Gems Required for 16 April to 15 May 2015

Every 16th of the month, a new time-limited synth fish will be introduced in Happy Fish. Three different types of gems are required to produce this time-limited synth fish. Now, the question is...what are the three gems required for the next time-limited synth fish coming on this April 16? In case you have not noticed, there are clues left behind in the Shell Game and this month's Daily Stamps. Observe the gems shown in the Shell Game and Daily Stamps, then you will know what gems you should be collecting to prepare for the next time-limited synth fish.

Here is a quick breakdown on the three gems required for the next time-limited synth game:
  • Gem 1: Moon Cake (Blue) produced by Lunafish
  • Gem 2: Purple Jade produced by Purple Carp
  • Gem 3: Amber Ball produced by Amber Elephant

Gem 1: Moon Cake (Blue) produced by Lunafish

If you haven't gotten your Lunafish, feel free to drop by the Store and purchase one at only 5,500 coins. Lunafish produces a Moon Cake (Blue) gem rather fast - it takes four hours to produce a gem.

Gem 2: Purple Jade produced by Purple Carp

You can also purchase Purple Carp from the Store, but be warned that this fish is to be purchased with fishbucks, at precisely 17 fishbucks. If you can't afford to buy one, perhaps you can try your luck in the Shell Game - Dr. Octopus gives away some fishbucks fish for free and Purple Carp happens to be one of them!

Amber Ball produced by Amber Elephant

As for Amber Elephant, the process of getting one is rather tricky. First, you must look for the Merchant Fish and trade your items with him, in exchange for some puzzle pieces of Amber Elephant. Once you have collected 50 puzzle pieces of Amber Elephant, you will be able to exchange for one real Amber Elephant!

P.S. For the time being, there is no other way of getting the puzzle pieces of Amber Elephant except through the Merchant Fish. You must try to complete as many transactions possible with the Merchant Fish. The Merchant Fish will offer better transactions if you can fulfill his requests. The puzzle pieces of Amber Elephant is the most exclusive offer from the Merchant Fish.

You can either produce the gems yourself or visit your friend's aquarium. Do remember to leave these three fishes (that have produced gems, of course) in your Display Tank too, so that your friends can also collect the gems from you.

Daily Stamps: April 2015

Do you play Happy Fish daily? Well...if you don't have that habit, you better try to inculcate one because those who play Happy Fish diligently might be rewarded with cool stuffs each month. Where can you find these free stuffs?? One of the methods is through Daily Stamps.

The main idea of Daily Stamps is basically to give rewards to players who play Happy Fish online. You can claim these rewards if your device is connected to the Internet. In other words, if your device is not connected to the Internet, you won't be able to play Daily Stamps.

There are small rewards to be claimed each day of the month, but the biggest reward is given out when you have collected 28 stamps in that month. It is possible to skip playing the Daily Stamps in a month, as long as you play for at least 28 days. For this month of April, you can only skip two days of not playing the Daily Stamps!

What is the big reward that you can get for April 2015? If you scroll down the Daily Stamps page, you can see Colorful Cloud smiling back at you. Ordinary players can only claim one Colorful Cloud, while VIP6 and above players can claim two Colorful Clouds.

Colorful Cloud can be purchased from the Store at 25 fishbucks. Those who cannot afford to purchase Colorful Cloud can try their luck in Daily Stamps this month and GET ONE FOR FREE!

Happy Fishing & Cloud Catching!

Shell Game: Cute Baby Seal (Dorky Seal)

Do you realize that a new member has joined Happy Fish Dream Aquarium today? This new member is the super Cute Baby Seal (cute is part of its name). If you check out the Fantastic Activities page, you will see Cute Baby Seal waving happily at you...

Cute Baby Seal is really very cute and animated. I fell in love with this seal straightaway...gosh, wish I could win one right now! How to bring this seal back to your aquarium? You need to fight Dr, Octopus in the Shell Game, either Regular Shell or Gold Shell will do. Cute Baby Seal will most likely be in the Shell Game until 10 April 2015, since it will be available for a month from today. Hurry and catch one Cute Baby Seal (or more) today!

Butterfly Fish is no longer available in the Shell Game, but you can win puzzle fragments of Butterfly Fish in the shells (you cannot win Butterfly Fish directly, but if you collect enough puzzle fragments, you can exchange the fragments for Butterfly Fish). Butterfly Fish has been replaced with Cute Baby Seal in the Shell Game. Are you ready to win this Cute Baby Seal? Do you have enough shell vouchers?? Which game should I try - Regular Shell or Gold Shell?? Hmmm...

If you do not have a lot of shell vouchers, I would advise you to play Regular Shell instead. It would take around 50 to 100 shell vouchers to win the monthly rare fish in Regular Shell. You have an even better chance of winning the Cute Baby Seal with minimum shell vouchers spent if you use my Regular Shell Strategy.

P.S. Please be aware that playing the Regular Shell takes a lot of concentration and time. Do make sure that you are fully rested and in a good mood before you take on Regular Shell. Please do not get upset if Dr. Octopus keeps on appearing - just get out of the Shell Game, do something else and rest awhile. Wait until you are relaxed, then you challenge Dr. Octopus again.

If you do not like to waste your time playing Regular Shell or you have unlimited shell vouchers, you should play Gold Shell instead. In Gold Shell, there is a feature which guarantees you the Cute Baby Seal if you spend 200 shell vouchers. I do not need to use this feature so far, but I have to say that this is a good deal indeed.

Hope to see Cute Baby Seal in your aquarium soon! Happy fishing!

P.S. I had another surprise when I scroll through the list "My Gems" - this Cute Baby Seal is apparently just a description. I suppose the real name is Dorky Seal...although I still prefer Cute Baby Seal.
